Strengthening Cybersecurity Cooperation: U.S. - R.O.K. Partnership
A Single Country Project for the Republic of Korea
April 16-22, 2025
We recently welcomed cybersecurity experts from the Republic of Korea to San Antonio to strengthen international collaboration in cyber defense and innovation.
Delegates met with Sixteenth Air Force (Air Forces Cyber) to discuss emerging cyberspace challenges and cyber defense, highlighting the importance of collaboration between the military, academia, and private sector. At the Cybersecurity Council of the Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, they learned about workforce development initiatives and the CyberSecurity San Antonio (CSSAtx) public-private partnership driving the city’s cybersecurity industry.
The group visited Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) to explore cyber protection across sectors such as automotive, aerospace, and defense. At the CyberTexas Foundation, delegates learned about educational programs and workforce development strategies preparing Texas youth for careers in cybersecurity.
At the Alamo Regional Security Operations Center (ARSOC), the delegates saw how collaborative security efforts protect critical infrastructure and support smaller communities across Texas. They also toured Tech Port at Port San Antonio, learning how the facility fosters talent, innovation, and connections between education, industry, and global opportunities.
Finally, Irys Technologies shared the private sector perspective on driving cyber innovation through partnerships across military, academic, and industry sectors.
