Thank you for join us!
Please join us for our “Annual Citizen Diplomacy Celebration" virtual event on the evening of October 28th. This event is free and open to the public and will provide the community with an opportunity to learn more about the importance of global citizenship on a local, national and international level, as well as how our city benefits from engaging internationally.
Keynote Speakers include Assistant Secretary of State for Educational and Cultural Affairs Marie Royce, Dr. Katherine Brown (President & CEO of Global Ties US), and other international leaders.
The event will feature performances from local and international musicians and dancers and alumni of the US Department of State's International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP), which is celebrating it's 80th anniversary this year. The alumni will share how the programs through SACIV have positively impacted their work and life upon returning to their home countries, as well as their favorite memories from their visit to San Antonio in recent years.
SACIV will also present this year’s "International Leadership Award" to Mr. Jorge Canavati for his contribution to promoting citizen diplomacy in our community, as well as announce the first ever recipient of the newly created "Irma Reyes Citizen Diplomacy Scholarship." This award was established to honor the work, support and dedication of Ms. Irma Reyes to SACIV for over 30 years and aims to support the education of students pursuing an international related degree at a local university.
